Likes: Mummy movies, reading books about history, playing ball with Sully, Nicole Darling and his sister Emily…a little.

Dislikes: Alligator boots, Dwight Fitch, The Uktah, Sir Angus, caves and science

Spencer lives on his family’s apple farm with his father, grandmother and sister. He loves nothing more than taking care of animals. His best friend, in the whole world, is Sully, his two-year-old yellow lab. He’s just a regular kid in the sixth grade at Spring Valley Elementary School. He has red hair and blue eyes and oh yeah…he can talk to animals!

Emily Sweetwater

Age: 9

Hobbies: science club, bike riding, doing any kind of experiment, helping her gram make doggie biscuits for Sully and Maggie Lee

Likes: her dog Maggie Lee, molecular biology, her best friend Anna, her Titan Trailblazer 500, eavesdropping and her brother Spencer…a little.

Dislikes: the Pitsner twins, wrecking her bicycle, snake paintings and unsolved mysteries

Emily is a science nut. She can’t get enough of doing experiments and her hero is Sir Isaac Newton. She has a special knack for solving mysteries and she thinks spiders are really cool. She has brown hair and green eyes with flecks of brown in them just like her mother. She is Spencer’s younger sister and is in the fourth grade at Spring Valley Elementary School.

Anna Gonzalez

Age: 9

Likes: Sweetwater Animal Society, enchiladas, her cat Sweetie Pie, math, her best friend Emily

Dislikes: Spiders, corn, snaky things, dark and scary caves

Anna lives on Sweetwater Farms with her mother and father who help manage the apple farm. She loves numbers, anything to do with running a business and it was her idea to form Sweetwater Animal Society. She has long brown hair that she pulls back in a single braid and ties at the end with a bow. She attends Spring Valley Elementary School and is in the fourth grade with Emily.

Jonas Walker

Age: 11

Hobbies: science club, molecular biology, working in his lab

Likes: anything to do with science, his hiking boots and new wheelchair

Dislikes: keeping stats for the red and blue baseball game, writing for the Spring Valley News and The Uktah

Jonas Walker is a genius and also an inventor. He’s in the sixth grade with Spencer at Spring Valley Elementary School and is in the science club with Emily. He can’t walk so he has to be in a wheelchair most of the time. He has short black hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.

Sully Sweetwater

Age: 2

Breed: Labrador Retriever

Favorite Place to Sleep: in Spencer's bed

Hobbies: playing ball with Spencer, chasing moles around the barn, wagging his tail

Sully is Spencer’s yellow lab and best friend. They do everything together and that includes protecting Sweetwater Farms and the vortex in The Hidden Mountain. Sully also goes with Spencer’s dad to the apple orchard when Spencer is in school. He loves to get tummy rubs and thinks grandma Kate’s doggie biscuits are delicious.

Maggie Lee

Age: 4

Breed: mix of Labrador, Hound dog and Golden Retriever

Favorite Place to Sleep: in Emily’s bed

Likes: her new food bowl, her registration certificate, everyone at Sweetwater Farms and Grandma Kate’s doggie biscuits.

Dislikes: Sir Angus and being left by herself

Maggie Lee was adopted by Emily and loves her new home at Sweetwater Farms. Maggie can only hear out of one ear and although she is a mixed breed she looks a lot like Sully. She and Sully are best friends and love to run and play together.

Suri Lakena

Age: 200

What she loves the most: the great planet, all life, Sir Benjamin, Spencer and Emily, Takoda, Kuma, Ayasha, and the energy vortex

What she believes in: the love that flows from the energy vortex and that everyone has the right to be who they were born to be

Suri Lakena is the Gatekeeper of the energy vortex in The Hidden Mountain. She has protected the vortex for two hundred years and now she is training young Spencer to take her place one day. She is a beautiful Native American woman with long black hair. She hopes that everyone on the great planet can be like the energy vortex in The Hidden Mountain and send out love to all living things. She believes this would help make the world a much happier place.

Sir Angus/ Uktah

Age: 200

Likes: power, greed, money and wants to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

Dislikes: the Edinburgh Orphanage, Spencer, Suri Lakena, Sir Benjamin and the love that flows from the energy vortex

What He Believes In: RULING WITH FIRE AND FEAR!

Sir Angus was Sir Benjamin’s partner at the Royal Society in Scotland. They were friends at first but then Sir Angus became greedy and wanted to sell their scientific work for money. He was a very angry, mean man who didn’t like many people. Suri Lakena tried to put all of his evil into the old Native American legend of the Uktah to keep him from hurting anyone else. But he found a way out and is now trying to take over Sweetwater Farms.
