S.L. Lurz lives in the North Carolina mountains surrounded by her inspiration for writing—her seven horses, three cats, two dogs and miniature donkey. She has been passionate about writing for many years and it is her belief in the human spirit that has led her to write Sweetwater Animal Society and The Hidden Mountain—the first in a series of books embracing the empowerment of all living things.
Lurz is also an eco-supporter and animal advocate. In 2009, through the Horse Protection Society of North Carolina, she began Stallion To Gelding Support. The program is designed to help end equine overpopulation by preventing unwanted births and is the first national program of its kind. She currently serves as the national spokesperson for the organization and lobbies in support of animal rights in both her state capitol of Raleigh, NC and Washington, DC. |
